Endodontics Surgical Microscopes
Microscopes provide enhanced illumination and visualization of the surgical area up to 25 times magnification. The endodontic surgical operating microscope allows Dr. Welch to view the inside the tooth during treatment. This technology allows us to evaluate for cracks inside the tooth and locate very small root canals that otherwise may not be located without magnification. This is especially beneficial for an accurate visualization of the complex anatomy within the root canal system.

Electric Motor Handpieces
Endodontic electric motor handpieces, used during endodontic treatment, are virtually silent. This modern equipment significantly reduces stress and anxiety for our patients with sensitivity to dental equipment sounds. This equipment is designed to used exclusively with nickel titanium rotary instruments.
Apex Locators
The apex locator is a measuring device that determines accurate root canal length. It eliminates the need for X-rays previously needed for length determination. It is important for the success of root canal therapy to thoroughly clean, shape, and fill the canal to the very end of the root without extending beyond or being short of the anatomic apex.
Ultrasonic Units
The ultrasonic unit removes posts and obstructions from canals and is extremely useful in locating calcified canals. These procedures are accomplished in conjunction with a very fine-tipped instrument to preserve tooth structure.

Sterilization Laboratory
Our practice has its own fully-equipped modern sterilization laboratory. This is where our dental assistants sterilize and disinfect our dental equipment prior to use by Dr. Welch in treating patients. We adherence to the best practices guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA), and manufacturer training for sterilization of dental instruments. Sterilization and disinfection of our instruments occur after each patient and involves multistep procedures to ensure that all microorganisms are destroyed, sterility is maintained, and patients are kept safe.
